- District Information: Ramanagara District is one of the 31 districts of Karnataka, with Ramanagara City as the administrative headquarters.
- History: Carved out of Bengaluru Rural district on 23 August 2007, comprising Ramanagara, Channapatna, Harohalli, Kanakapura, and Magadi taluks.
- Political Significance: Home to the highest number of Chief Ministers in Karnataka: Kengal Hanumanthaiah, HD Devegowda, HD Kumaraswamy.
- Geography: Approximately 50 km southwest of Bengaluru, sharing borders with Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Tumakuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagara, and Krishnagiri districts. Famous for rocky outcroppings, popular for rock climbing at Savandurga, Ramadevarabetta, Sri Revana Siddeshwara Betta, Thenginkaibetta, and Kabbaladurga. Important geological feature: Closepet granites from the Lower Proterozoic era, separating two distinct crustal blocks of Archaean age.

- Economy: Famous for its silk market, known as Silk City, with an average transaction of 35 metric tons of cocoons daily. Industrial areas: Bidadi and Harohalli, housing manufacturing units of Toyota, Coca-Cola, and a 1400 MW gas-based power plant.
