Overview of Udupi
- Overview: Udupi District, located in Karnataka, serves as an administrative subdivision with its headquarters in Udupi city. It comprises seven taluks, 233 villages, and 21 towns.
- Formation: Established on August 25, 1997, from portions of Dakshina Kannada, the district has seen further subdivisions, including the creation of Moodabidri taluk in January 2018 and additional taluks in February 2018.
- Geography: Bordered by Uttara Kannada to the north, Dakshina Kannada to the south, Shimoga to the northeast, Chikmagalur to the east, and the Arabian Sea to the west.
